We could enthuse about the stunningly attractive exterior appearance of the Red Lion for ages: but as a picture is supposed to be worth a thousand words, you can judge for yourself.

Inside you find a long main bar that broadens out at the back; with a nice homely feel and some lovely details like its tiled fireplace. Off to one side is a theatrically-themed conservatory.

With a clutch of appearances in CAMRA's national Good Beer Guide, you can be confident that this great pub serves equally impressive beer.

How would you rate the atmosphere?
It's always dead Poor, either it's too quiet or too loud There's always people in, but it lacks anything special. A good crowd gets in on most nights. Everybody always seems to be having a good time, the atmosphere is ace.

The bar is understaffed and the service is poor. There are long waiting times due to the bar being busy. The service could be better, but you always get served pretty quickly. Service is quick and the staff are knowledgable about the products. The staff are friendly and knowledgable, and this adds to the overall experience.
 Does this place have any bonuses for students?
Not a chance. No offers, but the prices are pretty reasonable anyhow. There's are some offers available to everybody, but none specific to students. There's a discount card scheme. There are offers for students available when you show your NUS card.
